AIR-HEATED SLAB
FOUNDATION
Founded in Kungälv, Sweden over 30 years ago, Legalett's pre-engineered GEO-Slabs are designed for cold climates and have been installed in many countries similar to Canada including Germany, Finland, Norway Poland and the US.

Standard on a NØRD house, frost protected heated slabs deliver efficient and incredibly comfortable heating on our coldest days.
MASS TIMBER STRCUTURE
Mass timber, otherwise known as
cross-laminated timer (CLT) is the heart and soul of the NØRD house concept. CLT is made of selectively harvested, certified sustainable Ontario softwood.

Fabricated to millimetre tolerances that allow large homes to be assembled by crane and a four-man crew in only a few days.

THE PERFECT WALL ASSEMBLY

The Perfect Wall assembly is an environmental separator concept originally conceived by Joseph Lstiburek, Building Science Corporation. The wall assembly is designed to manage the elements (rain, air, vapour and heat) in a radically different way than with traditionally-built homes.

Working with our partners, NØRD has taken this approach to the next level with advanced air sealing and exterior insulation.

INTEGRATED SOLAR
Solar technology continues to improve and we believe it's time that all new builds incorporate this renewable resource.

Our homes incorporate super-thin solar panels that are designed to sit, hidden, between the seams of a metal roof and are adhered without hardware like brackets or screws that can compromise the roof over time.
​
With the right design and building orientation to maximize sun exposure, integrated solar can free you from energy bills altogether and help reduce your home's carbon footprint.
